WILL THIS Pass????
Hi guys,
Maybe some know that i made a dashboard out of a small screen(touchpanel)
But as you all also know in need a brakefluid warning light wich has a symbol on it. Because of my layout of my dash i used leds to do this.
Because of the symbol needings and i don't think it will pass with the symbol near to it. i thought i could put some effort into it.
This is the result:
You have to imagine the thing blingking
and if driveing(speed bigger then 0) an audible warning is fired to! Hope it will pass with this!
Dashboard
p.s. the layout is just a BMP image from windows...so basicly if someone has a cooler design it can be build (as i'm interested in a couple of
alternatives)
dash during boot

hmm well I like it but is it going to be classed as a warning light? they may also insist that it has to be red, not sure. I would have thought a man
of your talent could have done a flashing one

SVA clearly states:
"check the hydraulic system is fitted with a red warning lamp"
and remians list as long as the failure exists (ignintion on).
your dispay is covered by the latter case.
it must be "labelled in a recognised form" - "on the illuminating surface" like you have it.
so if you screen does red, you are ok, otherwise fail.
nice idea btw - interesting non linear(?) rpm scale - 1-4-6-8-10-11-12

Would it matter that it obscures other info on the dash?

I should imagine it would be OK as long as a) it is red and b) it does not obscure the speed readout or any other mandatory display (turn signal
tell-tale, high-beam warning?).
Either way it's not covered in the manual so will be up to the tester's discretion.

If you read my post i say that it blinks.....
about the log scale yupsz because i programmed every step i was able to use a log scale
If you drive and the alarm triggers i think you have something more important on your mind then a speedo reading...
anyway i can make it smaller sow the speedo keeps insight...
unfortunately the display isn't red....
but i do have an addional red light
near the display... but that light is a led and thats difficult to cover with a logo...
