Cat needed or not?

Hi all,
I'm using a 1.8 Zetec from a 1993 Mondeo, I am planning on using the existing injection set up and the existing engine wiring loom/ECU.
Now when all this was still in the Mondeo it worked with a Cat so will I need a Cat in order for it to work properly even though the engines age says i don't need one for the SVA?
Cheers guys.

^^

Not saying your wrong but why ?

it will need the Lambada to run closed loop but the cat sits after this.

emisions should be much better than say the same pre Aug 95 zetec on webers.

Hmm.
So thats 1 yes and 1 are you sure.
I was pretty much thinking No but thought it best to ask, now I'm all confused. Anyone else have any thoughts on this.
Luckily I'm not quite at the stage where I will be fitting the exhaust system so it might be worth bunging a cat on anyway?
