MOT grace
A quick question folks,
How much grace pre/post MOT expiry do you get?
The car was registered 27/09/05 and is booked in for next wednesday the 8th Oct.
Should I be driving around in it over the weekend?

None at all - at your own risk
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

You can have it tested up to one calender month before the expiry date or due date (in your case due 27/9/08 so test from 27/8/08) and the new
cert' will be post dated to that date. Once expired you cannot use the car on the road. The exception to this is to drive between your
home/place of repair and a pre-booked MOT appointment.

Yup. I'm afraid there's no grace. As soon as the MOT runs out the only time you should be on the road is going to/from an MOT. This is
mainly because the insurance is invalid....

I'm sure you'll be alright if it's booked, for example mine runs out today, won't be using it tomorrow but if I go down monday
and they can't do it til tuesday and it's booked then I might get some grace. I wouldn't take it as read though and it
probably more depends on the mood of the copper...

It's 100 yds from garage to MOT station, no need to run the risk.
