Engine Block Details???

How does the SVA / DVLA regard a pre-1992 engine block with new heads and ancillaries that weren't originally designed for the block?

Is it just the block number and it's proven age that's of interest for emission / catalyst matters?

yep. they use engine number to determine engine age and thus what emission test to apply.
