nib1980 - 23/8/09 at 04:23 PM

Been busy this afternoon, fitting the new brakes

can't wait to test them, but need to find an adapter fitting between my pipes and the clliper

see below for the change

Anyone fancy a set of M16 callipers and discs?

very nice

though, not wanting to pee on your strawberries, are those discs on the correct side?

I was just thinking that, it depends on the shape of the vanes though.

Just go out for a drive(not dangerous) if they make a strange noise then you will know

lol, my thoughts as soon as I saw the picture.

can't you have the grooves on the discs pointing both ways, 1 way for increased braking, wear on the pad and noise. The second way decreases the wear on the pad and lowers noise

i hope it is not wrong as it is the same way i fitted teh brakes, and they are marked left and right on the box, and i put teh left one on teh left and teh right one on the right. unless i was looking from the wrong end.

i looked from the back off the car.

V nice did mie last year, was well worth it.

As for the grooves, depends who you listen to. But FWIW in my book they are on the wrong side.

And yes you can just swap the hubs over

thefreak - 23/8/09 at 05:36 PM

The grooves dont relate to which way the disks go on. they can be slotted either way depending on the manufacturer.
The way to check without doubt is to check which way the vanes go inside the disk (if it has them). If they are solid disks, they can be either way. the way these are fitted will be more aggressive on the pad.

Leave them as they are, it won't make any difference with solid disks.
