Does anyone know the weight of their uprights?
Not fussed if it includes hubs, steering arms, etc... I'd just like to get an idea of what each design weighs.
Ta muchly!
Fiat Cincquecento uprights fitted with hubs bearings and the outer end of the driveshafts plus discs callipers and brake pads plus nuts bolts and the top ball joint adapter that I made weighs 13kg a side.
Could weight up my MX5 ones but they have no calipers and discs.

My preference would be bare weights if anyone has any lying around or has the numbers in their head...
I've got some sierra ones here if you want to know there weight
(actually you've seen them before when we were looking at your quantum's brakes)
That would be cool! Cheers Robert!
Mini upright with balljoints and outer part, ie no inner parts of the cv, cage, ball bearings etc, 6.5 kgs, machine of the excess cv bits probably
6kgs all up
Ford Sierra including mushroom adapter 5.2kgs add a little bit for the maxi balljoint at the bottom and the transit draglink at
the top probably 5.7kgs
Cheers
David
I have just sold and couriered two sierra Hubs ,with vented discs, calipers and top and bottom ball joints came out at 36Kg The pair.
Thought they had been made out of lead!

I weighed a bare Cortina stub axle at 2.8kgs on a kitchen scales. I've seen references on here to it weighing 2.57kgs though.
Westfield alloy front upright with alloy hub, steering arm and top & bottom rod ends and pins = 6.7Kg per side.
(no disc or caliper fitted).
Just weighed a bare Cortina front upright no bearings, no hub 2.9Kg or there abouts

Vauxhall Viva front upright.
No bearing, so bare.
1.5kg.
That's one point five kilogrammes.
Or, if you like, 3lbs 5oz.
They're not heavy...

Home made upright (Roarty) 1.9kg
Calipers pads and bracket (hispec) 2.7kg
alloy hub, bearings 1.6kg
bell & 280 disc 3.0kg
Adds up to 9.2 kg but total on scales weighs 9.7kg - says a lot for scale accuracy!!!

Cheers guys, I appreciate it!
Just trying to work out whether it's worth keeping the two hubs that came with my single seater... 6.5kg including the hubs.
I was thinking this was a bit lardy... and now the LCB massive has confirmed it!
