Rear wheel hubs from new FWD cars?
adithorp - 18/7/11 at 12:46 PM

I had a Vaux' Insidious in work on Friday and noticed the rear hubs are splined to take a driveshaft. They're FWD so I assume this is for 4WD versions or they're utilising the same bearing carrier/hub assembly on the rear, as they use on the front. I'm pretty sure I've seem similar hubs used on other cars/makes as well.

Has anybody looked into using these on a kit?

Adi,

Imagine going into your local spares place and asking for a CV joint for the back of a front wheel drive car.
There would be more than the normal sucking of teeth!

I guess you could use the diff too

Interestingly it's available as an extra on pretty much every engine variant...so there may be a nice selection of ratios...
