Question on coilovers

Hi all will coil-overs work horizontal ?
i'm thinking of making a small camping trailer using coil-overs for the suspension

Unless they are designed to work horizontally not very well, the damper may go all floppy as the oil will not circulate correctly, you will get air pockets as most rely on gravity to keep the fluids in the correct place.

Some bike ones with a remote reservoir should be okay however, and I suspect cheaper on ebay.

As said NO unless specifically designed to do so, That rules out AVO's GAZ and Protech's. Just look at the Mac#1's and Mk indy r's with the front dampers mounted upside down. The very part of the damper where you want the oil at the adjuster is full off air and has absolutely no damping at all it's just free to move.
