hi all,

ive had my car on the road working fine before, but took it apart to upgrage (done we all!)

anyway i carnt blled the rear brakes, i have fitted a hydro handbrake into the system but carnt get any pedal at all on it, now i was wandering when i put the rear brakes on one if there right? as the bleed seem slightly lower that the feed, here are some pics of how ive put it back together done think i took it apart to be fair but i know cossie ones are vertical at the back on the cossie or there abouts and these arnt, this os the only thing i can think it is ive tried both master cylinders and there working fine





any input would be great

This is a common problem with sierra calipers on the rear. If the bleed nipple is not at the top you will not be able to get all the air out. I had to remove the caliper and turn upright while holding the pads in place with a spacer. This did the trick.

just done this to one side

Hydraulic handbrake will not pass MOT!!

make sure you have fluid flowing into and out of the handbrake master cylinder, you need to pump the handbrake the same as you would a pedal to shift the fluid through, you have added and extra obstacle for the fluid to get right through the system.

and sierra calipers are a swine to bleed, im always hearing of people having trouble, what footbrake master cylinder have you got activating the rear circuit.

the position you originally had the calipers in should not have caused any bleeding issues.

another thing to try is to keep moving the handbrake levers on the calipers, this helps the pistons ratchet up to the correct position.
