jsut had my wheel redone and coated just rebuilding them, am i right in think just bolts them up then seal in the groove where all three bits
meet?
no need so sealent near bolts or anything like that
I used a good quality (Unibond) Silicone sealant on all the mating surfaces.
One did lose air after but this was down to me torquing the bolts up to 15 lb/ft and snapping the heads without knowing
Redone this one and all is fine now.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Iainl
i bet a soft non-setting plumbing compound would be fine to seal it, would certainly be easier to take apart! Silicone is phenominally difficult to break when there is a big area stuck.
I was going to suggest a non-hardening gasket compound like Hylomar blue. I hate silicone sealer, it's an absolute bugger to remove.
