Hi all,
I've refurbished some four spoke RS alloys to go on my Fury and had the tyres fitted and balanced today. As well as using stick on weights, they
fitted the knock on type to the inner rim.
I heard a horror story of these flying off at speed and smashing into and cracking the grp body on another car.
Are the knock on weights typically ok for these alloys, or am I just being paranoid?
Cheers, Steve
IMHO, knock-on weights should never be used on alloys. They damage the coating which leads to corrosion which causes the weights to come off as well as ruin your wheels. Even using the proper alloy wheel knock-on weights, which have a fatter clip, will damage your alloys. For alloys, I only use stick-ons.
Although there are plenty people who talk about stick-ons falling off too.
I have a mixture on my ford lasers.
