I have recently purchased a escort based striker and would like to know how I can make the car more compliant over bumps in the road.I believe it is
running 150 lbs springs on the rear and 180lbs on the front with spax damper and the back end seem to ride a little bit too harsh it could even be
hitting the bump stops and ideas very welcome.
Thanks Matty
Put small tywraps around your rear piston rods to see if you're bottoming out.
Are your spax adjustable?
My Gaz Golds have a little adjuster knob that changes bump and rebound rate. This makes a big difference to ride quality.
Yes the car has spax dampers all round.

the escort based sylvas normally have a rather soft ride, compared to similar cars.
the coils supplied with the kit are rather soft. so if the rear of the car feels to hard i would first try to set the damping softer.
next step i would lift the car, (wheels free, damper expanded) and check how much the spring-platform an be lowerd until the coil gets loose. maybe
the former owner screwed-up the platforms to raise the car and now the oils are already too much pre-loaded.
what year is the car from? the reason i ask : the earlier cars often camewith softer coils (from my expirience) than the later ones.
