Coil-over Spring Poundage - Small Pick-up Truck
BigDawgV8 - 28/11/12 at 08:47 PM

Hi All,

I have another question for all you knowledgeable folk out there!

I'm building an ST170 powered Morris Minor pick-up truck and need to order a pair of coil-overs for the rear.

Does anyone know what sort of poundage spring I should go for?

Being a Pick-up there isn't much weight up back, fuel tank, chassis and Subaru IRS.
I reckon it could be similar weight to a Locost or similar?

Any help and advice much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Martin

I would go for 275 or 300lbs springs they are to hard on the rear of an MK I have tried them these should allow for a bit of additional weight

i'm sure the springs given to me off another race pickup are 300lbs springs. not sure how the weight etc compares to you project.
any pictures? sounds like a good one

speak to mikecapon on here - he owns the shock factory and I've had great advice and custom springs which have been brilliant value.

here is the site
