Just picked up my suspension today but not sure about the best way to get the springs on and the top cap back on. Is there any particular method of doing it?

Here is what I have got. I know the two spinning adjuster screw right down to the bottom and you then slide the C shaped top cap out, slide the spring over, but then I cant just squeeze the top C cap back in place.

You need a pair of spring compressors, they aren't expensive. You clamp them on to the coils and tighten them up which compresses the spring allowing you to fit it in place.

Thats what I was thinking, but is there not a "Locost" way to do it?

When I fitted mine recently my spring compressors were too big to fit the spring with them on. I compressed the spring and then put lots of cable ties on removed the tools and slotted the spring on did the top up and then cut the ties. If you could find a way of compressing the spring you could try this but be careful they are under a lot of strain hence using lots

How far off are they?

5mm, 25mm?

If its more than 5mm then going on my past experiences I would say you could do with shorter springs.

Shorter springs is the proper fix I reckon but for 5mm I'd use a couple of bits of threaded rod with some bent flat bar with a hole through on each end with a nut on each, however go carefully and wear eye protection etc.

They are the correct springs specified and supplied by Mac#1.

Ended up getting them on using a one hand clamp either side to compress the spring a little, and with the assistance of the Mrs who held the clamps on and then slid in the top cap.
