What holds them in i cannot see a spring clip like i was expecting.
They have a spring inside the housing which puts the shaft under slight compression so when it is all assembled in the car the joints are effectively
being pushed outwards away from the center of the shaft thus keeping them in the diff.
Make sense?
Tilly
The tripod housings/CVs have internal springs which push on the driveshaft and keep the inner CV pushed into the differential.
DOH! - beat me to it.
