Hi all,
I'm currently removing my standard Sierra back end running gear and replacing it with a 4x4 jobbie.
I've got it up on stands, got the rear brakes and driveshafts removed. Then I thought about the diff. Bugger, I didn't undo the bolts
holding the prop to it!

Will I be able to undo the prop bolts now? (I torqued them up proper like) I don't want to put it all back together.
Have you got a compresor and impact wrench????
This will do the job no probs
This was how I did my donor car when I had it in the air doing the gearbox
Nope and nope
Put a lever between the propshaft yokes and undo bolts if you don't have a compressor /air wrench.
Try clamping some molegrips across the diff/propshaft flange (as if you're trying to clamp the two flanges together) and rotate the shaft till the grips meet a solid object, like the bottom of the chassis. Usually works for me.
Cheers guys, looks like I'll manage!
if you are still struggling Northy, I've just bought a compressor and am looking for a windy gun. You can borrow them if you want.
Cheers Trev,
I probably won't try to do it till next weekend now.
I'll strip the interior on a night during the week to get to the top of the prop
