cheers hellfire, any opinion whether they're are better or not?

The Lobros are more convenient for doing gaters etc. in my opinion.

The disadvantage is that the shafts are much heavier than the drum/tripode type.

Stronger but heavier. Also, unless you're very lucky, you'll destroy your T40 torx bit(s) undoing the bolts before giving up and using a chisel. No choice if you want the LSD though.

where are the the T40's are they the 6 bolts on the lobro shaft? I am picking this diff up tomorrow so i havn't seen it yet

James - 19/5/05 at 03:36 PM

There's 24 T40s in total.

Don't even think of wasting time undoing them- just grind 'em off and replace with socket head caps.

i have read the very stressful sounding accounts of other with the T40 problem

grinder straight out

We got our's out - soak em in WD40 or other penetrating oil overnight. Get a good quality torq driver other wise you'll shear the tool and f*ck the head up! We found after soaking them that a sharp crack with a hammer cracks the thread off, makes it slightly easier. We failed on one and ended up grinding it off.
