Braided brake hoses
pmc_3 - 31/5/05 at 09:54 AM

At the moment, i'm still running mk1 Escort brakes on my Dutton. But at the end of the week the upgrade is commencing. I'm fitting some refurbed m16's along with a load of other bits. The problem is the m16's are metric and my current ones are imperial. I dont really want to change all of the brake lines.

What I was wondering was if I bought a mk1 escort braided hose kit from say Rally Design, is there an adaptor I could screw on to the calliper end of the hose to change it from imperial to metric?

Try Goodridge, you can make up the hoses to suit - Merlin Motorsport are good, and are Goodridge agents - they may even have an adaptor.

Or try Think Automotive (www.thinkauto.co.uk), Im sure there will be a sauitable adapter although in an ideal world you want the least number of unions / adapters as possible, so a new (or modified) pipe would be best. Think can usually modify existing hoses if you can afford to lose a small mount of length.

Merlin Motorsport have been really helpful with me. They are currently making up some hoses for the front brakes on my car.

All swaged fittings too, so they should be fit for SVA, and the price seems reasonable too. 11 quid each...
