Type 9 Gearbox

Hi All,

I've decided to convert my Type 9 to use the electronic pickup out of a Granada. I've got the Sender unit, and managed to get the original speedo cable gear out of the gearbox, my problem now is the original gear does not seperate from the shaft that connected it to the speedo cable, so I'll either have to bodge something or find the correct gear wheel for the electronic sender unit. Anyone know where I can get one?

The Other question is to do with the wiring of the Electronic speedo sender, It has three wires coming out of it, can anyone provide the appropriate wiring diagram for this.

It should be a hall effect unit.

One wire is connected to 5v, the other to ground and the other is an output.

Are you sure that is requires a 5v supply, seems a little strange to use this when all other electrics are 12v?

and if you are right got an easy way to step 12v down to 5v
