'GRIP' tyre softener
andyfiggy2002 - 10/6/05 at 07:26 AM

anybody tried 'GRIP' tyre softener, I have ordinary road tyres for general use but have a go at hillclimbs/ sprints at weekends, get quite a bit of wheelspin at the moment understandably, can anybody recommend this stuff as I don't have funds for spare set of sticky wheels/ tyres

If you do use it, don't broadcast the fact.

To the best of my knowledge it is actually banned. It is in my local championships anyway.

I've no direct experience but i believe for track racing its frowned upon as you can't be totally sure what its doing to the tyre, how far its penetrated, has it penetrated evenly + it negates the leveling effect of having control tyres etc......

do a web search and see what comes up.

How can you afford to go racing then?
I don't want to burst your bubble, but if you don't have a racing budget, how do you propose to repair your car when you have an off? I stress when and not if you have an off.
