I have some 15" 6.5J wheels and am not sure whether I am limited to 195 65 R15 tyresor will they take 205 50 R15

Think they should take 205s

IIRC, the George Polley Motorsport site had a good reference somewhere as to which size tyres will fit which rim.

Either will go on right, but I would go 205s.

or even 225 but usually a narowish tyre on a wide rim gives the best handling.
