I have just tried to trial fit my prop parts to measure it for size. (Escort axle to type9)

But it seems that the prop still wants to go through the tunnel upright, I am currently using the tubing off a single piece prop, which has a 3" diameter.

Can some one tell me whether it is safe to use 2" tubing, or what diameter tubing I would receive if i bought a prop?

The 2" tube used for Sierra and Transit 2 piece props is the one to go for.

had the same problem (you'll be pleased to hear!) trying to use a spare (and brand new) 3" tube prop from my rally car on my seven. Another problem that I found is that the big UJ's on the 3" tube prop hit the bellcrank on my 5 speed type 9 gearshift extension.

I have a Caterham HPC prop now and that is 2".

Can some one tell me if the rear uj are the same on the escorts with smaller and larger flanges?

So that I could attach my smaller flange to the RS2000 prop which had a 2" tube, but a larger flange.

Alright I'm going to a prop repair place tomorrow for someone to have a look at it.

I was told that a ballpark figure for a staked uj replacement is £50, does that seem reasonable?

Also how have people shortened their props?

Is it sufficient to use something like a 2" long piece of tube which fits snugly over the two pieces and is about 3mm thick?

If anyone is interested, the flanges are not interchangeable.
