What are the dimensions for a standard fuel tank? Have seen an alloy one that looks good for adaptation in the shed at work, don’t get my chassis for a week or 2 yet so can’t have a measure up!

From memory, a tank 800w x 250h x 280d should do the trick. This will fit into a book chassis.
Have a look round the breakers yards because you'll most likely find a preloved one rather than building one....
I ended up using one from a Mazda 1300 sedan, but you may not get them over there
