I'm referring to the TREs on the top wishbones. I want to adjust the angle of the front wheels as seen from the front of the car. Don't know the technical term for this. Anyone know what the angle should be?

camber? the amount that the wheels lean in at the top?

It needs to definitely be negative , unless you like the Triumph Herald effect!!, mine is 1.5 degrees, wouldn't mind going a bit more, some Caterhams seem to have quite a good amount of negative camber..............

Is that with the bottoms of the wheels in towards the car?

negative is with the 2 wheels closer together at the top - which is what you want

Nope, top of wheel in, The theory being that if the top of the wheel is already leaning inwrads is a static state, when it leans out while loaded when cornering it will be forced vertically (or close to it) where the tyre is designed to work properly.

I dont think there is an ideal ,the optimum is probably different for every , tyre/wheel/suspension bush material/car weight/roadspeed..............but it is best to have a little negative camber at least so that the car doesnt tend to kinda roll over the tyre wall...........

I would start with about 1.5 degree negative camber as a benchmark and adjust either way until it feels about right.

Like Surrey Dave says, there is no ideal -its whatever suits you and your car.
