My car is standard book chassis with cortina calipers the flexy pipes are 16inches long. !0mm male to bracket on the FU upright and a banjo fitting to the calliper.

I used a rear set of R32 skyline brake hoses, as the neighbour didn't like the standard braided hose and replaced them with race spec one's Went through the ali panel on the side, with a strengthening plate, to make it a bit more rigid. Seems to have done the trick, and cost me nowt!

Paulf. How did u fit banjo pipes to cortina calipers? I was told you have to machine them?

Hi,

I have Cortina uprights, discs & calipers on book w/bones.

Bought some Goodridge hoses at Stoneleigh, and yup, you've guessed it,

they were marked up Cortina mk IV

I expected to have to machine the mounting face flat, but decided to try it first.i used a fine file to makesure the mounting face was smooth and then checked the tapped holes for squareness against the mounting face and found them to be accurate enough to just rely on a copper washer between the fitting and calliper.
I have now done about 2000 miles with no problems.
If they did need machining i intended to just put them in a vertical mill and align the hole using a fitting screwed in and then spotface them with a slot drill .

When I fitted mine all I did was to screw in a small blanking grub screw as supplied with some master cylinders to stop any debris gatting in and use emery tape over a file to lightly clean surface . Have had no problems with leaks at all . Just make sure that banjo bolt doesn't bottom out before clamping banjo .
See you at the next Anglia meet.
