Brake pipes - right angled connection / banjo.
lsdweb - 25/10/05 at 12:34 PM

hi All

I've just fitted rear calipers (see separate threads) and the brake hose entry to one of the calipers is pretty close to the panhard rod mounting. I can get acopper pipe with a bend in no problem, but I'd like to use the braided hoses I have directly into the caliper. The fitting is metric (8mm).

Does anybody do an 8mm banjo fitting - I've found loads of 10mm but can't find anybody doing 8?

Regards

Wyn

Are you sure it's 8mm pipe thread??

10mm is much more common.

Goodridge do straight 8mm ones, maybe ask them bout 90 degree ones

Do stuff thats not in catalogue

I'm confused!

They're definitely not 8mm! Closer to 10mm. Possibly 3/8" UNF but I don't think so! How do I check? None of my measurements are helping! As the calipers are Peugeot, I'd guess they are metric?

surely should be M10 x 1??

.............unless the French have done a corker and used M9 fine!! te hee!!

They use M7 for bleed nipples, but then so do a few others too!

As NS Dev says likely to be 10mm. x 1 . Cant say thet I've ever come across an 8mm pipe nut except on perhaps Citroen systems

I had my rear braided pipes with banjo ends at caliper made up by thinkautomotive in isleworth middlesex, worth giving them a call when you find out the thread size to see if they can help.

I think they were £10 each

Mention the site for possible discount
