I've recently changed the front brakes on my Dax Rush.
I took off the Cortina calipers and put some Wilwood Dynalites on.

The problem is , that the first time I hit the brakes nothing happens; if I press the brake the second time the brakes work.

There is no air in the pipes, the only thing I can see is that the pistons in the calipers pull back.....(that's why I have to press the brake twice)

Does anyone have a solution for this problem, because it's a little bit dangerous if you have to make an emergency brake.......

are the front wheel bearings too loose?is the vent in the master cyl cap blocked?

Check there isn't excessive play in the front wheel bearings. That could cause the symtoms you describe.

However, it could also be a mismatch between new calipers and master cylinder...

why are you certain that there is no air left in the system? I have to unbolt the wilwoods on my car and turn them repeatedly upside down during the bleed process this is the only way i have found to get all the air out.

have you got calipers for vented disks,but actually have solid disks???

Ide go with the wheel bearing theory, something as got to be knocking them off, did you fit new discs ? if so are they sat on square ?

I have new solid disks, the calipers are original for vented ones but you can take out the spacers to fit them on solid disks.

I'll check out all your advices first thing in the morning.

i had this problem - solved it with a 2psi residual pressure valve RalDes!
