I am mating my shaft drive bike engine to a toyota propshaft. If I machine some caps it looks like I may be able to make a hybrid between the bike and toyota U-joints. Do you think this will work?
The proposed caps are in red, the bike parts in yellow and green, the toyota prop in grey.
If this works I won't have to shorten the prop and can do the caps myself. They also don't need to be hardened as I can use the original yamaha bearing caps inside (yellow).
Opinions?

looks like it will work, as long as there is a way to hold the caps in, maybe a flange or something of that nature to heep them from being centifugally pulled out.

I'm using the same retainer clips as were used on the toyota part - the groove is hard to see in the pic - it's just inboard of the yoke.

See no reason why it should not work!!
