Wishbone Jig
RichardK - 30/12/05 at 06:45 PM

Hi all, was going to use a setup like what Blueshift has in his last post as a jig for my bones but after reading your comments decided to make a proper jig as seen here , my question is would it be ok to cut a couple of slots down the ends on the tubes and insert a gusset plate shaped like the one drawn underneath. I know if I do I will have to modify the tube guide so the gusset will go in. Any way what do you think, I am using maxi ball joints btw. Sorry about the dodgy yellow tinge, dodgy camera! others in my photo archive

Thanks in advance

Rich

I've got a leugo front wishbone set for sale if you want to save time £60

bought last year not used

Thanks and I'm sure someone will snap them up, but I am sort of into making as much of this car myself so I'll pass, but thanks.

Rich

Don't slot the wishbones for the shock mounting plate/gusset, simply butt weld it to the middle of the tube (not on top).

The reason I asked is that I was going to then use the bottom of that plate to push upwards towards the bushing tubes keeping it all tight together and thought a couple of smallish slots would help to do this without pinging upwards if you get my drift.

Thanks
