what is the lenght of shocks front and back on a book based locost ?
sorry if this is covered else where
just dont want to waste more money,
would like to get it right first time.
as ever its now turned into a HICOST !
but hey who cares
Funny that, I asked a similar question yesterday...
The GTS shocks are 12" front and 11.5" back. IIRC they were designed to fit the book chassis origianlly.
I have heard of other manufacturers using anywhere between 11" and 14" shocks though...
Wait and see what other answers you get
David
The stuart taylor "book" car uses 12" front and 13" rear shocks
My book built chassis also has 12 inch front and 13 rear, I coul not work out how the GTS rear ones would fit a book built car and was put off using
them for that reason.

It depends where you put your brackets on the top rail at the front and on the rear axle. Get your shocks then make them fit if it's not already too late. You could set your ride height using tubes with holes drilled to replace the shocks then phone dampertech with the distance between the holes and he will tell you what you need.
I've got 14" at the back and 13" at the front.

I take it these are "nominal" shock sizes +or- the travel. Is the nominal size of the shock the lenght of it when car is level Any
advantages with longer shocks over shorter. I priced Protech and they are expensive...£100 each. Gaz ones I think!
Alex
Protech are cheap for the quality!!!
Actually cheaper than GAZ if you get them from the right place!
Give MNR a call, last time I saw they were £315 for a set of 4 incl springs.
