Mcsorley +4 Gearbox

Can anyone confirm that an MT75 gearbox mated to a 2.0 Litre Zetec will fit the McSorley +4 chassis.

Sweeping generalisation but --- Most builders find they have to custom make the tunnel to take the particular gearbox they are using and how far back they place the engine in the chassis.

Trouble is I haven't got the engine yet so I don't know exactly where the gearbox will come.

I'm building a Mcsorley 442, which should be the same width at that part of the chassis, and I'm using an MT75 box which fits no problem, although I have made the entrance to the tunnel wider than book specs (only to get the box further back) but even so it still leaves plenty room for Pedals and feet.

Nearly forgot, I have the MT75 dimensions in a cad type drawing (cheers again Dave) if that would help you any?

It will fit a standard-ish chassis with a bit of tunnel work

Without doubt the best description of this part of the build that I have heard!!

The tunnel design depends entirely on where you want the gearbox to sit, and a lot on whether you have a clutch release arm sticking out of the side of the box, hence why I have gone concentric hydraulic.

You really need the box before you can do the tunnel/bulkhead area of the chassis.

Thanks for the input.

I've got the box but no engine as yet so positioning it fore and aft will be tricky.

What's all this about concentric hydraulic operation. At present I have an arm designed to take a clutch cable. Is this something I could / should mod. I gues hydraulic operation would be better than a cable.
