Balljoints

Has anyone used Austin Princess balljoints as part of their wishbone set up? I know that the hotrod suppliers sell them cos that's what I have on my pick up, they look quite neat but no adjustment at the outer end.

Just wondered!!!

For some reason they never caught on on the Locost world --- they are however ideal use on rocker arm top wishbones as the they are designed for push-in spring loads.

The long term availability of them might be a bit iffy --- QH will keep making any ball joint if it keeps getting re-ordered -- with Cortina, Maxi abd Tranny joints the number of kit builder who use them will keep replacements available.

Don't forget the other special builder's favourite mr Trident, the Sherpa draglink (or is it trackrod?) end.

Very similar to the tranny one but with UNF threads.

I used Princess ball joints on one of my vehicles. I bought the joints and housings from Wishbech Engineering. I was impressed by the price, the way the ball jont screws in and how it was adjusted.

I would use them again and just buy a spare set of ball joints. 2 sets would lasrt for ages.
