Does anybody know what pad the Raceleda R16 calipers use?
I know they are always seen with EBC pads, but I don't really want to use these, and surely Raceleda/Outlaw based their caliper around a common
pad?
If it is a direct replacement for a Ford M16 caliper. will it take standard Ford pads? (or their aftermarket replacements)
that's what I thought but it's nothing like the cortina one in terms of pads!
My HiSpec use Lotus Elise S1 pads.
Email them and ask!
I'm sure they will be based on some sort of standard car.
Pat...
Is that the HiSpec ultralites?
If so, different again!
Will speak to them asap, tried t'other day but no answer, apparently the chap who runs raceleda has been ill for a few days.
Have sussed it anyway now tho I think, they take very similar pads to the Hispec "Billet 4" caliper, i.e. same length and depth, just
different locator.
Looks like either mintex MGB 522 or MGB 576 pads will fit if I grind a notch into the backplate above the pad to fit around the bridge/retainer bolt
on the raceleda caliper. This is what some of the Westy chaps are doing to fit various hawk and wilwood pads to them, apparently originally Subaru
fitment ones
The mgb576 ones are Volvo 240 4 pot ones and the mgb522 is fitted to various Jags incl E type, as well as rover 3500 "s" and jenson
interceptor etc.
Both should fit fine, and one is much cheaper than t'other so will go for the cheaper, but obviously in 1144 compound (the whole reason for the
research to start with!!!)
