if you bought this kit would you expect to have drilled and grooved discs?

and if it came with plain disc what would you do?

hypothetical(sp) question of course

Yes, and complain.

the picture would certainly make you assume so, but unless there was text stating drilled and grooved discs, or the price implied it, i wouldn't bank on it.

in any catalogue, pictures are usually only as examples.

Yes and complain. If that picture was beside the description and the pay box.

If it was a blanket picture above a list of bits then thats a different matter.

"A new range of braking kits designed utilising the new lightweight Powerlite caliper and a 265mm solid brake disc. These kits are suitable for kit cars and smaller formula cars where lightweight is so critical. (kits suit most 13" wheels)."

this is the text accompanying it

not really then. it looks like a 'stock' picture anyway.

It does not say for illistration only or similar so I guesss I would be asking questions.

Wadders - 17/3/06 at 07:09 PM

Sorry, Liam have to agree, it plainly states 'Solid Discs' even though the pic shows something else. I'm sure they would swap them for you if you really want grooved and drilled, at extra cost of course.

They are solid disks in the picture. Solid is to differentiate between solid and vented. Not solid and drilled/grooved.

Apologies so they are, only glanced at the pic and thought they showed vented discs.

By ways of comparison I got my kit from hispec and I was expecting vented discs, what was a pleasant suprise was that they were cheaper than I initially thought and they were grooved when I was only expecting plain!

not much help to you though Liam - sorry!

btw top marks to teh kitcarworkshop who i bought mine through...

Ned.

I would expect to receive exactly what is in the picture. It says nothing to make you think otherwise. It doesn't say "for illustration purposes only" anywhere in the text or underneath the picture. If you have something different to that, it's false advertising.

I would complain.

liam.mccaffrey - 18/3/06 at 12:42 PM

i think i will have a word the plain solids are a good bit cheaper than the drilled and grooved

At a push you can always wave the distance selling act at them and get your money back.
