What have you used to join the steering column UJ to the steering rack UJ/Flexi joint?

Steel Tube?

Solid bar?

anything else????

Nice bit of steel tube, quite thick walled if i recall, didn't want to twist it doing 17 point turns and was going to up to a quick rack one day too.

ive made 3 different downlinks from both 19mm 16g tube and 25mm 12g. None have failed even on track use. I tend to pick whatever tube will fit over the bits i happen to have lying around

7/8" OD 1/8" wall cold drawn hydraulic tubing.

We use it for very high pressure water line at work and have loads of offcuts so it's quite handy!

3/4" CDS with Montego/Maestro splines brazed into the ends (That's my column and links). I used two 3/4" i.d. pillow blocks with pressed housings (much lighter than cast)

Heavy gauge steel tube, with the Sierra UJ at the top and a Maestro UJ at the bottom.

I take it that the maestro splines are the same as the splines on the MKII escort rack then?
