I just aquired a set of 206 GTI wheels for my avon build. Free with good tyres :-) What nuts do I need to use to make them fit? Both ford and
peugeot seem to have a 60 degree taper. How long do the studs on the ford hubs need to be? Front I have 30 mm and rear I have 25 mm. Bit worried
about the rear being 5 mm less.
Hoping that a set of ford nuts will do. Found a set on Ebay
Any advice or thoughts?
What is the distance between the base of the taper and the mounting face?
I have RS alloys, and the Ford nuts sink right down into the taper and almost touch the mount face, so what appears to be very little stud showing
does actually have about 13 turns.
The centre bore of the peugeot wheels is bigger than the ford, so you will be relying on the tapers to locate the wheels.
I wonder if you could get some 65mm 1mmID tube and heat it and sweat it onto the centre of the hubs, I cannot see why this would not work.
Mark, thanks...
I did a search on ebay an there seems to be a number of people selling spigot ring adaptors. Seem to be made of plastic or alloy. I have also sent an
email to speed shack requesting suitable bolts. Will keep posted on how I get on...
