Hello,
Just about to fix the back brakes onto my Sierra De-Dion and I can't remember which side is which for the back plates.
The only difference it looks like is from which side the hand brake cable enters.
Question is : When fixed on does the handbrake cable enter the side towards the back of the car or from the front.
I would have thought from the back else it would have to twist at some angle to get in.
Help.
Handbrake cable enters from the front.
Simon
ive just looked at mine and i reckon through the back, cables going to bend to much through the front i would of thought. may be wrong
Using the De-dion axle from GTS you should fit the back plates on the opposite sides from that which they came off the Sierra.
ie. The handbrake enters the rear
The wheel cylinders are at the BOTTOM of the plate. NOT the top as on the Sierra.
The plates will NOT fit the other side as the hole centres are not symetrical about the half shaft hole.

It is a GTS Chassis and DeDion, so it looks like cable at the rear and cylinders att the bottom rather than at the top.
Cheers all
That is very interesting Mark.
I had a long discussion about this subject with Darren.
There was no way my backplates would fit on the way you have fitted them as the mounting holes just wouldn't line up.
Darren said it was done this way in the jig so as to facillitate h-brake cable entry from the rear and allow the fitting of his adaptor plates for
rear disks on the same setup.
The only thing I can think is that he has changed the jig since I got mine.

Curious!
Just tryed mine and I can fit mine with the wheel cylinder at the top and the original handbrake hole at the rear.
Just what I want. I think!
