I've got a set of remanufactured sierra rear calipers, unfortunately my alloys don't clear them.

The standard discs are 253mm. I'm thinking of fitting a smaller rear disk and then moving the caliper in to accomodate.

Is this too simple an answer or is there something I haven't considered?

can't see why your solution won't work though - no chance of swapping the rims for 16" items ?

just had a look at your pics... are they minilites? they look quite wide - is that the source of the problem ? would using spacers to move them out help ?

They're 13x7s at the rear, 13x6's at the front.
I haven't checked to see if the 6's fit the rear with the brakes on.

Escort Mk5 front discs are smaller by 14mm and sit back 9mm. I'm going to measure up what I've got this evening and work out if they will fit, if they don't then my next option is westfield rear discs, as they sit back 2cm more than the sierra ones.

That would be the main problem, wrong size of wheels you need 15" wheels not 13". The alternative would be to use a smaller rear brake set up, which would be different discs and calipers.

Westfield discs are Escort 3/4 and Fiesta 2/3 fronts I believe! The easiest option will probably be to have your current discs machined down, if possible.

Probably best to get the discs turned down and re mount the calipers. Even better would be to get a proper set that just fits. Otherwise, when you need to service stuff it'll cost a fortune just to change the discs. Or fit 14" wheels at the back that fit over what you've got.

The wheels on my are 6x14 ET19 and they fit perfectly over the calipers. I've heard that Certain 13" wheels fit, but not all. I think compomotives fit, but im not 100%.

The front wheels fit over the calipers with no issues, I think the offset of the rears is the problem.

I don't like the idea of machining disks down, I know the rears aren't changed as often but I'd like to stick with an off the shelf item for ease of replacement.
