Hi,
Should the hole in the lower bone that the ball joint sits in be a perfect fit to the balljoint or should i allow a little clearance?
Thanks.
What am i on about!!! I mean Maxi balljoint not cortina!!!
Sorry.
As long as the bolt holes in the plate are lined up it isn't too critical. It's more for clearance than location purposes so the joint sits on the plate not above it.
Actually, I believe it is (or was originaly) for location. The balljoint fits very snugly into the hub of a maxi, and it's a very tight (too
tight really) fit into my GTS wishbones.
Personaly I would make it a good sliding fit, i.e. a tiny bit of clearance, but as long as it's not rattling around I suspect it would be ok.
I doubt they'll rattle round when the bolts are tightened.
Thanks guys! I cut the holes with a 40mm holesaw in the end because thats the closest size i had. The balljoint seems a good fit, its not tight but
there isn't loads of movement either so i'm happy with that.
Cheers
