Hi everybody!!
We are tryin' to make it with a ford sierra in south west of France.
We have got a website if you want to see the job we did: www.mathtech.fb.bz
We need help for the suspension can we use the ones of the sierra,?
You can use the front hubs, minus the macferson strut, and you can use the back axle complete, without the subframe. You will of course need to build, or purchase front wishbones, and some form of rear axle support, either dedion, or indipendant rear suspension. Hope that helps. Regards Ray
Thanx ray for the help
You did yours with a sierra?
Yes, built mine totaly from a Sierra XR 4X4, but would not recommend this route to anybody, much, much simpler with a standard 4cylinder car. Are you building using "the book", or somebody elses plans? The McSorley plans for the chassis are much better than the book, no mistakes, you can download these from his site. If using either Dedion, or independant rear suspension, you can get some plans from Rorties site. Hope all that helps. Regards Ray.
we are using the mc sorley plans but we had to change something for the back suspension you can see it in www.mathtech.fb.bz in "les
etapes"

Can we use the shock absorbers from the sierra ? because for the front we baught motorcycle shock absorber and its too lite.
Do someone has an idea?
I've tried to make it with an Escort before....
The Sierra shocks will be too stiff as the car is too light. Just order some shocks from the UK and get them sent to you.
Order some from Pro-tech or Gaz or something.
I see you are in France. Do you know anything about Savate Boxe Francais? I've been doing it for 6 years.
Cheers,
James

Hi,
So you suggest us to order shocks from the UK? Do you know if it can be found on the internet? In France, Locost is not well known so its difficult to
find it.
You did yours with an escort? MK? a recent?
You can see our job at www.mathtech.fb.bz in the "les étapes" onglet and "novembre".
We started in august 2006 and now the chassis is on his whells. We had our first ride this week!!!(with somebody pushing the car!!)

Sunday we will try to make noise with the engine.
For the french boxe, I know this sport but i never practice it. From what i know it's violent and you need to be fast. I'll try it maybe one
day.
Hi there!!!
We bought dampers from Uk by ebay.
And now we just bought the seats.
We have to do the whole brake system what shall we use? is it possible to take the tubes from the sierra?
The website is www.mathtech.fb.bz
Watcha bud!
Ill be down your way from 17/03 untill 30/03. Will be in the Midi-Pyrenees department near Figeac. I know Aquataine is to the west of where we are,

I would buy new as they'll a) be old (getting on for 15+ years) and, b) be the wrong shape, and length.
For the sake of a £15 coil of copper pipe and 25 quids worth of fittings, is it worth it?
Fb
Why have you used the Sierra rear end? There are plenty of people (me included) who have made their own rear wishbones or used a de Dion.

Bends are done carefully by hand - a bit of forethought for routing will enable gentle bends.
A fifteen quid flaring tool works a treat. Did all mine with one.

lol i don't know!!!!
We was following the ron champion book and i think it is a cheaper solution.
Thanx for the help about the brake system we are going to search the price of these parts in France.
Cahors is just over an hour from Figeac from memory and funnily enough were going to be looking a a property just to the south west of there around
the 23/24 of march.
PS if you want me to bring some stuff over then Im happy to do so as long as its not large parts that are required!!!!
