A quick but urgent question...

I am fitting a Type 9 box to a crossflow. I have a crossflow clutch cover, and the small Sierra clutch plate, so everything's OK there.

My question's about the release bearing - do I use the standard Sierra bearing & carrier, or do I have to change anything?

The reason for asking is that I've heard conflicting stories about needing an extended carrier - something to do with preventing clutch cable breakages. Trouble is, the extended carriers I can get don't take the sort of bearing I need... a flat-faced one to match the curly fingers on the clutch cover.
