4x4 driveshafts

I should be getting some rear hubs and bits this weekend but they're off a 4x4. Can anyone set me straight. I already have a diff and push in driveshafts from an XR4 and I wondered if these would work with the hubs? I have an idea that some shafts have more splines than others.

AFAIK there are at least 3 different shaft diameters/spline configurations, but you might be lucky and find they fit. The 4x4 shafts/hubs are definately lobro and on the heavy duty side (large diameter), although if memory serves me correctly my 4 x 4 shafts fitted into the quaife push in diff i now use, the splines were correct but too short, so i ended up having some special shafts made by GB engineering. Sierra 1.6 push in shafts/hubs are much smaller diameter and substantially lighter. Sorry just re read your post and noticed the XR4 bit. you might just be lucky and find they are the same spline pattern.

Hope this all makes sense, its a minefield.

Good luck, hope they fit.

If it's down to luck then I'm on a downer

Not having much luck recently are you? If all else fails, drive shafts can make nice, big holes in things! Just wear gloves, or you're hands'll hurt!
