Sierra IRS

I am going to build a locoost eventually but, I have a question about Rorty's Plans in that I do not see where to place the IRS and what if any Bracketry is available or plans for said things. If anybody can point me in the right direction it would be helpful.

By the way if anybody is interested in getting parts ie:- Escort Mki or II then try the Ferry lane Industrial Estate in Dagenham as they have parts and whole escorts and Sierras by the shipload.

When you say you dont see where to place the IRS, what exactly do you mean?
Rorty's plans include measurements for all wishbones and bracket sizes?

I cant see where the support bracketry for the IRS is supposed to be placed and where can one get either plans for such a thing or where a ready made item can be purachased.

I assume you mean the plans on my site?

If so they are 45 pages long, and I am sure they detail everything you need!

When you say IRS, do you mean the diff? IRS tends to mean the entire suspension set up.

Rorty's plan's are superb but, I have shown these plans after I printed them off to a very good freind and work colleague was bemused and pointed out as a former Ford Engineer who said

"Where the hell are you supposed to hang the diff from"?.

The only thing the plans dont show measurements for are for the diff. Easy enough to fit due to the location tho.

Diff can be supported from tube O3 (i think off top of my head) and the wishbone bracket bars coming off said tube.

HTH?

BTW using Rorty's idea myself!

Do you or does anybody know where there are any plans for the diff bracket or where i can get one

Make one up from your diff and chassis? Easy as that!

I could do with no problem but, I have seen a frame available as a plan or ready made and I cannot remember where I saw it as I am a bit of a lzy bugger at times

Just one more thing guys, thanks for the tip on the O3 tube for the support but I think it would also have to hang on the RE and RF tubes as well as the RB tube, would it not? Comments please

(Nice ones if possible as my daughter is looking over my shoulder and wants to help me build this as she gave me the book for crimbo!!!)
