Hi,
whats the best way to clean all the donor parts?
Parts include, Rear DIFF, etc.
Also, is it possible to acid clean the rear hub carriers, and the caliper brackets to get them nice and clean?

IS your answer. Most viewed thread Electrolisis see the light. Just read it ALL and your questions are answered.
Electrolysissssssssss stuff is ok but to be quite honest a good degrease and a little elbow grease is the best.
Oh Mr Muscle oven cleaner works a treat for other bits. Before....
After
HTH J
electrolysis is great but only any good for rusty steel (not stainless - dangerous! or ally).
for other things a combination of paraffin, stiff brushes and wire brushes is generally considered effective.
Agreed with the above.
Electrolysis is greay for rusty bits.
DO NOT USE anything with Chrome, Stainless, or nickel in it, (all in Stainless Steel)
You will produce Hexavalent Chromium, which is quite poisionous. Just stick to using a mild steel plate for the other plate.
Works very well indeed.
For gunged on oil, grease and combustion products / gum, use parrafin, diesel. or with extreme care, petrol, or paint thinners.
I have even use Mr Muscle, and other oven cleaners
What ever you use, do take care, rubber gloves, eye protection, and face / breathing masks when there is a dust hazard, ie rotary wire brushing steel
etc.
Above all... Be Safe.

For cleaning alloy engine casings I have used a B&Q hand held steam cleaner to good effect. Mind you it knackered the poor thing and I took it
back for a refund ..... after I'd finished of course

It was a genuinely worthwhile investment of 5 minutes scrounging!
hth cheers,
Steve
i have started to try the electro thing today, how long shoudl it be left "fizzing" in the solution?
I have tried this method with a realy crusty chain and channel locks, works well. Most other methods of cleaning produce fumes and remove parent
metal. This only removes the oxide.
