As above really!!!!
Is this normal? I've running Maxi BJs at the bottom and the nylocks have at least three threads showing. At the top, the top of the bolt only
just sits level with the top of the nylock (ie pretty much zero threads showing).....
Didn't get picked up on SVA but having had my suspension fly apart already I'm keen to find plan B before it does it again....
Any answers???
nyloc half nuts or aircraft nuts are pretty thin
i know that on the westfield there is a bit machined off were the top balljoint taper is,
but think thats for fitting wing brackets.
I have had this problem too and got round it by machining back the Nylok nut (the flat end not the Lok end) to reduce its thickness.
John
Cheers John and Conrod- looks like I'll be sending my nuts off to be spun up on my brothers lathe!!!!!
Anyone know off the top of their head what the thread is?!?!?
arent there two types of transit part with different lengths? Maybe im remembering wrong, somethings about TREs and drag links being different but similar.
You can buy nylocs in 2 different lengths as standard. can't remember the proper designation but a quick google should find out the info.
The part you need is a Transit drag link with a RH thread.
Take your pick from any of the following after market part numbers,
