
I'm fitting a Quaife ATB into my Freelander Diff just now.
I've removed the rear casing and undone the 4 bolts inside, but nothing wants to budge within.
Any hints?
Also, the splines on my old driveshafts do not fit into the new Freelander Diff (I had a Ford Diff before). Do I need new driveshafts, or can I just
change the spline ends? If so, who is recommended for the parts?
Sorry for all the daft questions, but I've never mucked about with Diffs/Driveshafts before!

these questions are all on my mind at the minute, as i need to sort this soon. I was planning on getting or making hybrid shatfs, ford at one end and
rover at the other. Was going to ask advice on here whether i should attempt it myself, however i guess that new landrover inner cvs wouldnt be cheap
anyway!
How well suited is the 3.21 ratio to the R1 engine?

you need conversion shafts to take freelander inners and sierra outers, just had some done through mac#1.
IIRC one end has 22 splines and the other 21.jpg)
Eeek - what sort of performance would you expect to see with 13 inch rims and a 60 profile tyre?

mine will be freelander diff, zx9 with 13" slicks, but an enclosed body to help with top speed and an engine upgrade one day. My main reason for
choosing the freelander diff was weight, nothing more. Plus 1st gear will be used on lots of corners! 
They're the 7 inch ACB-10's Chris. Not sure what that translates to in normal width-speak!
13s on 60 profile is almost the same diameter as 15s on 50s
using it on the zx10r engine due to the 1.6 primary drive should do 130 on 13s

I pick them up dirt cheap.
The racers sell off 1/3 to 1/2 worn tyres for pennies. £60 worth of rubber lasts me a summer on the road and a few trackdays after they've
passed the wear markers!
are they road legal though? I thought some ACB10's where 'track only'. I'm not sure what the difference is apart from a marking on the side of the tyre.

Hi also there is more than one frelander diff internaly there is a difference and means that the ATB unit only fits one of them.
Sorry i cant remember what the exact difference was but i do remember having two in a batch of 5 where it was not possible to fit the atb unit. I can
only remember that the customer spoke to the kitcar workshop and confirmed that there was only one it would fit.
It was quite some time ago and i think a quick search may give you more info.
