graememk - 23/4/07 at 09:31 AM

sierra front uprights behind the dust cap is a big nut thats loose and needs to be tighter, what size is it, looks like a 41mm with my measure so i assume its not quite accurate

anyone know the size before i go out and buy 10 sockets untill i find one that fits

many thanks

what an odd size

I'm a bit concerned that it's came lose, I think I would replace the nut as there's no other locking device and you don't want the wheel coming off.

Are you sure the hub is on the correct side??

i bought them all recon, i think it just wasnt tight enough. they look like new still

Same as the Sierra rear hub nut size.

Probably originally 1 5/8" nuts (0.27mm bigger across flats)

41mm sockets are easily had though.

41mm is the ISO standard across flat size for 27mm threaded nuts.

Make sure it's tight 3501bs/ft according to the Haynes manual, got the local garage to torque mine up; as Mr Whippy says, you don't want the wheel coming off.
