Best tyre size for 15" alloys???
MOz - 4/5/07 at 06:46 AM

Have quite a low sump so thought 195/55/15s rather than 195/50/15s????

Are 195s the best or should I be going wider?????

Car is a MK Indy running Ford hubs (I think).

Cheers, the credit card is calling this weekend!!!

If height is a constraint I would go for 195X60 if available - That way you could lower the suspension and with it lower the Roll Centre.

Many people believe (with some justification IMO) that a high profile tyre better suits the 7's handling characteristics giving better warning of impending total failure of traction.

I would not go wider than 195 unless you have way too much power.

i have 195/50R15; best? who knows.

checdk rpices fo tyres to so don't choose an unusal (read expensive) size.

these are a bit smaller than the 185/65r14 I had for sva but had no grounding issues.

195/50-15 is good size and you can get cheap tyres as its popular. I.e. Toyo T1-R's or T1-S's or Goodyear Eagle F1's for between about 30 and 40quid a corner depending on where you go.

If you go to a slighter wider tyre or taller aspect you might find the price nearly doubles
