rear axle position

hi all
i have mounted my rear axle and fitted 6x13 rs alloys offset 19
but i seem to be very close to the trailing arm brackets on the chassis
any ideas trailing arm lengh is per book 305 mm centres
tyre size is 185x70x13
it is escort axle

very close is fine, touching is slightly less desirable!

when i say nearly touching we are talking
about 6mm away and the tyre insnt fully inflated yet
has anybody else came across this

i've heard of it before, i've seen people just fit a 10mm spacer.

All escort axle users will have this on a book chassis, I used a Capri axle and have a fair bit more clearance. I have the same wheels as you but use 185 60 13 tyres. 6mm is easily enough clearance as long as it stays more than 1/2mm under all circumstances! (good bushes in your panhard rod would be a good idea)
