Does anybody know how to tell the offset of an alloy wheel, or know if its marked anywhere on the wheel normally.

It just that ive got hold of a set of 16" Platinum Fox Evo 3's and 1 is very badly damaged, and i need to get hold of another one, and i dont know the wheel offset.

All i know is that theyve come off of a MK3 Escort Cabriolet. whether this is anything to go by im not sure, as they may not have been originally brought for that car either.

If your lucky it should be stamped on somewher, most likely on the back near the holes or on the inside of the rim

On some wheels its stamped into the centre boss. You can quite easily find out what it is by laying the wheel on a flat surface and measure to the fixing flange, (hub side), then turn the wheel over and do the same. Add the two measurements together, divide by two, take the resulting figure from the largest of the other two, and thats your ofset. HTH Ray

the offset is usually stamped on the wheel on the inside ( if it has a cover, then it might be stamped where the wheel bolts to the hub ) or on the inside rim?

the number will be something like "ET35" or "ET40"

Had a look on the wheels this morning, and theyre ET35.

So it looks theyll be ok for a locost with Sierra running gear
